I have a special fondness for vintage styled flowers, they are so feminine and romantic and include all my favourite blooms that you can grow in your garden.
Sweet Peas,Lisianthus,Roses,Carnations and softly scented herbs like Peppermint, Rosemary and Sage and Salvia are the loveliest flowers, all grown in a traditional cottage garden and they are all so frilly and smell just divine!
It is possible to find silk flowers that are almost impossible to spot as not real, but why not try growing some of these next spring?
All pictures of flowers on this blog are created by Hocus Pocus Flowers.

Wedding Bouquet Inspirations
How absolutely lovely are these blooms? They are all created by Hocus Pocus Flowers and are fresh flowers but I can give you a similiar look with silk blooms as well. There are so many colours and looks that we can use flowers to extend your wedding theme with, and now we can add in texture with succulents and dried twigs and heaps of other great organic ideas..
I am going to create some more eco styled bouquets over the next few weeks and post them but for the moment I thought some of these photos of different flowers may inspire you to contact me and we can design your perfect bouquet! www.hocuspocusflowers.com.au

Silk flowers or Fresh Flowers
Silk flowers are great for those of us who don't like to fuss with fresh flowers, they won't wilt in the hot weather, they look exactly the same for years so you can keep use them in your home decor - perhaps next to the photoframe with pictures of the occasion the flowers where used for..... They are also perfect for when you are wanting out of season blooms and hard to locate colours. Modern silk flowers have a real look and touch feature as well. You can also have the advantage of having your flowers for weddings or formals prior to the event. They are perfect as hair flowers too, hairspray and the weather can wreck fresh flowers in minutes.
Fresh flowers are all about the season, scents, how each bloom is alittle different to the next. The extra care you take is because you want to celebrate natures beauty using real flowers.
There is nothing like lush natural flowers that have a gorgeous smell that you will always remind you of that special day... if your grandmother grew old fashioned roses or summer smells like jasmine and gardenias having these blooms for your special occasion is ideal.
It comes down to the reason you want the flowers originally. Whether it is important to have the flowers for the moment or if you want them as keepsakes or to give to someone speical. I like both, fresh flowers from the garden for a dinner party or beside your bed are perfect but silk flowers in a draughty corner or in a very hot room are perfect for that place too! Keep an open mind when it comes to flowers, after all even the fake flowers are celebrating nature and remind us of how beautiful flowers are......................

Its Corsage time again!
I have been trying to work out what is "the look" for this year when it comes to corsages...many of the traditional corsages are really big, like a posy tied onto your wrist kind of big. Is that what people still want?
I was doing some research about corsages, they originally were designed to draw a mans'attention - in a subtle and yet fashionable manner - to the bosums...hmmm... maybe that is why wrist corsages seem alittle strange cos no man has ever looked overcome with lust at my wrists!!
Here are some ideas I have been thinking of offering.. What do you think?
